Check out the daily catches at the Ocean City Fishing Center!
I just got back from my son Ryan’s soccer game and was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the 35th edition of the Ocean City Tuna tournament will be a record. Last year, 105 boats took part in what turned out to be a two-day event, as the weather closed the ocean on the first day of fishing. This year, the weather doesn’t seem to be a major factor and 109 boats will be competing for over $1.1 million in prize money. Weigh-in action will take place at the Ocean City Fishing Center on Friday from 4-8:30 p.m., Saturday from 4-8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 4-7 p.m……or until the last registered boat weighs its fish. If you can’t make it to the OCFC to watch it in person, you can watch it live as the Hooked on OC team and I’m providing the live stream. Hope to see you at the soundcheck, but if not here is the link to the live stream…….OCTunaTournament.com/Fish-Cam
Good luck to all anglers fishing this year’s 35th Annual OC Tuna Tournament!!
Captain Ron Callis of Turnin’ Fins had a day of practice today and put some yellowfin on the dock for his crew at the Ocean City Fishing Center.
John Page Rawlings of Richmond, Va., was fishing with his daughter Suzanne Regan and son-in-law Bill Regan of Red Sun Custom Apparel when he caught this impressive black drum on a soft crab bait at Verrazano Bridge.
The good sized bar was slamming for the fleet of party boats today and almost everyone got to enjoy it. The Angler’s captain Chris Mizurak reported a “great day” today with big knots on board.
Bahia Marina’s Judith M crew had a good day of bottom fishing with big bass on board today as well.
Morning Star Captain Monty Hawkins was privately chartered today… and caught some jumbo bass.
Jim Parker chartered me for a number of years. Looks like we’re still lucky with her crew on board.
The meteorologist was talking about rain. There was a light shower first thing, then overcast.
After her girls pushed our reef blocks and togominium in style, we paddled out for deeper water.
Calm ocean with light north winds, we came up from the bar, from the very nice bar.
Wonderful to see such beautiful fish.
Somehow, Amy Jo won the pool. It’s because the boss is a gentleman…
If only every trip could go so well.
Cheers
Monty
