Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker steal ad amid drama
Eco-responsibility enthusiasts. Kourtney Kardashian and husband Travis Barker were spotted flying with daughter Penelope Disick and niece North West after her sisters were accused of being ‘climate criminals’ for their private jet use.
The kardashians star, 43, and the Blink-182 drummer, 46, reportedly flew from Los Angeles International Airport to Spokane, Wash., on Alaska Airlines this week, according to photos obtained by TMZ. The Poosh founder appeared to be trying to fly under the radar as she wore sunglasses as she boarded the plane full of passengers.
The newlyweds, along with Kourtney’s daughter Penelope – whom she shares with her ex Scott Disick – and Kim KardashianNorth’s daughter appears to have traveled from Spokane to their home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for some fun in the sun.
“Funny Sunday Day!” the mother-of-three wrote via her Instagram Story about a video of herself wakeboarding on Sunday, August 7.
Their getaway comes just days after Kourtney’s sisters Kim, 41, and Kylie Jenner have been criticized by environmentalists for their overuse of their private jets and the environmental damage they cause.
In a study conducted by sustainable marketing company Yardthe SKIMS founder was ranked No. 7 on a top 10 offenders list with her jet emitting a whopping 4,268.5 metric tons of carbon emissions over 57 flights so far this year.
Kim’s shortest flights include a 38-minute flight to Palm Springs, Calif., and a 23-minute flight from San Diego, Calif. to Camarillo, Calif., though neither flight beat Kylie Skin founder’s 17-minute journey.
Although Kylie’s Air Kylie didn’t make the list, Twitter users were quick to jump on the makeup mogul, 24, for flaunting her private jet.
“Do you want to take mine or yours?” the keeping up with the Kardashians alum subtitled july 15 Instagram post of herself and her boyfriend Travis Scott in front of their two private planes.
That same month, the @CelebJets Twitter account revealed that Kylie and Travis, 31, flew from Camarillo, California to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, a 17-minute flight, sparking massive outrage.
“Kylie Jenner is flying private for 17 minutes and you’re really worried about my plastic straw?” a Twitter user wrote, after the trip went viral. Another added: “These are some of the flights Kylie Jenner has taken this month. Flight 1: 3 mins. Flight 2: 17 mins. Flight 3: 28 mins. If you do everything you can to the planet and it makes you “a little bit” outraged, you are not alone.”
Some people have called the makeup mogul a “climate criminal” online. A third Twitter user wrote, “80% of people have never flown and Kylie Jenner is here taking regular 10 minute flights, 5 flights last week under 30 minutes, one of 3 minutes. Its carbon footprint for a 10-minute flight is more than some people earn in a year.
