I’m a Stewardess on a Private Jet – Here’s the Worst Thing a Rich Client Made Me Do
A PRIVATE jet flight attendant has revealed the craziest and worst demands of the most demanding passengers she served on board.
Stewardess Arta claimed a hygiene-obsessed jet owner let her crawl the length of the cabin to retrieve strands of hair.
The most degrading requests were made with the intent to be condescending, according to Arta.
She told Express.co.uk: “I used to fly for someone who demanded their plane be spotlessly clean, which we all tried to do.
“The pilots and I would sometimes almost crawl through the cabin from front to back looking for the slightest hair that fell on a carpet.
“But also this particular guest was hiding little papers on the plane just to see if you could find it, testing you if you had looked enough on the plane.”
This particular passenger went to great lengths to test Arta’s patience.
He would even break the seal on the free bottled water, close the caps, and wait to see if his flight attendant had noticed.
“That would be considered unpleasant behavior in my eyes,” she added.
Another strange request that Arta was told by her friend in the industry was for a high profile celebrity.
“A colleague of mine once flew with a high-profile celebrity whose request was not to make eye contact,” she added.
“I would find that oddly weird because what’s the first thing you want to do when you say that? Probably look into those eyes!”
But other travelers have complained about everything from the drinks they were served to the choice of pillow decor in the cabin.
However, his least favorite part of the job, according to Arta, was being replaceable on a dime.
What makes the situation even worse is that it depends on the discretion of private jet owners – who cost Arta her job for ridiculous reasons.
She said: “I was personally fired for being too young at the request of a plane owner’s wife.”
To help reduce the number of complaints, flight charterers are asked to send in a preference sheet beforehand.
This contains information about the foods and drinks they enjoy and any other requests.
Although that doesn’t stop disgruntled travelers, Arta revealed.
She said: “Guests are complaining about some things not being there even though it wasn’t on their preference sheet, but we just can’t carry all the items because the kitchen space is limited. .”
Demanding private jet owners were bad enough any time of the year – but especially if Arta was serving them at Christmas.
The stewardess explained that she was often on board during important holidays and birthdays, but the passengers were not always understanding.
However, she admitted that wasn’t the worst part of being employed as a VIP jet hostess, as she was still at home more from a nine-to-five job.
It comes as other flight attendants have also shared their bizarre stories, including Tia Haskell*
Tia has worked on private jets for over 10 years, as a VIP stewardess and senior crew member.
She has had the chance to travel all over the world including exotic places like Singapore, New York, Mauritius, Seychelles and Dubai.
While Tia may serve some of the wealthiest and most high-profile personalities, that doesn’t mean they always put on their best behavior.
Tia said: “Some passengers are very drunk.
“A man left thousands of dollars in a plastic bag in the pocket of a seat.
“On one flight, we were tipped $200 to stay in the kitchen and close the door during the flight and not disturb the couple…
“A very famous lady asked us to land immediately because she wanted to have a burger.”
Following protocol is paramount when dealing with VIP guests, and confidentiality is paramount.
Tia says, “Discretion is important and we sign confidentiality agreements.
“Basically, whatever the VIP wants, we fix it – a lot of stuff I can’t talk about!
“During a flight on a larger aircraft, we had 32 live falcons with passengers.
“Some celebrities have weird requests for things like a certain color of M and Ms or a flavor of chips or a brand of mouthwash.
“We had to buy a popcorn machine for a celebrity.”
*Tia Haskell is a fake name
Another air hostess from the same sector, Saskia Swann, even saw his boss having sex in his cabin.
The moment she saw her boss join the mile-high club, she said: ‘All I could see were his feet sticking out from under the duvet. I couldn’t see her face, only her bare back. She was kneeling astride him moaning.
“Now was not the time to ask, ‘Would you like full English?'”
