‘Below Deck’ Guest Charles Sanders Leaves Shocking $6,500 Tip – After Crew Delivers Incredible Charter
Charles Sanders and his wife Erica Rose capped off their shocking Sailboat under the bridge charter leaving a tip of $6,500, possibly the worst tip in franchise history.
The crew went the extra mile to ensure the charter was perfect. Chef Marcos Spaziani delivered a meal to guests’ specifications, even after being horribly injured during preparation. But Sanders continued to complain — which he says was production-driven. In the end, even though they had the trip of a lifetime, Sanders and Rose tipped less than any guest in the show’s history.
‘Under Deck’s Captain Glenn delivered the bad news
Captain Glenn Shephard, already anxious after Cindi Rose destroyed the $50,000 white couch with her sunless tan, made sure the crew knew he thought they had over-delivered during the charter.
But he was grim when he revealed that Sanders and Rose only gave them $6,500 for the full excursion. That works out to about $720 per crew member.
Spaziani’s jaw immediately hit the ground.
“F*** my fucking life,” chief stew Daisy Kelliher said in a confessional. “Honestly, I think I’m about to burst into tears. I’m not well right now. She added, “They could have tipped us $30,000, $40,000, $50,000. No money in the world would make me happy to work for people like that. I don’t think people like that deserve nice things. As far as I’m concerned, they can take that tip and stuff it up their hole.
“It’s still better than being punched in the eye with a sharp stick,” Shephard said. He added, “[The tip] is a reflection on them. Regardless of that advice, I think we had a good start to the season.
Last season, Rose left a tip of $18,450.
The average “under the bridge” tip is around $20,000
Under the bridge charter guests were trolled on social media for a much higher tip. Under the Mediterranean Bridge producers have previously shared that an average tip is around $20,000 and guests have been lambasted by fans for tips as low as $17,000. Producers even give Under the bridge advice to customers on how to tip on their charter.
“In addition, the rental group is responsible for the cash tip, which is typically 20% of the original full-price rental charge – not the discounted price,” according to a Under the Med Bridge production call sheet. “On average, gratuity per charter is between $15,000 and $20,000 and is at the sole discretion of the charter party and the sky is the limit.” Under the Med Bridge Season 6 guests paid between $40,000 and $45,000 for two- to three-night charters.
Last Sailboat under the bridge season, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow was criticized for tipping $15,000 after making endless demands of the crew. He admitted the tip was low but insisted the service was not up to his expectations. “If it would have been better, the tip would have been better!” he responded to comments on Instagram. “Maybe next time it will be and I’ll leave more but right now when people all over the world have no money, no jobs and no future, $15,000 is not not something to look down on!I wish someone would tip me that much Lol.
Even couples who were scared of the coronavirus (Covid-19) last season left a few thousand dollars for the crew. They had been on the boat for less than 24 hours.
Also, Charles Sander’s mother-in-law damaged the sofa
Adding insult to injury, Cindi Rose lied to Shephard about damaging the couch, insisting she hadn’t sat in the stained area. The producers flashed on a clip of Rose perched on the couch. “When a primary charters a boat, he is liable for any significant damage to the boat,” Shephard explained in a confessional.
Rose was seen telling other guests that “someone” was wearing bronzer that stained the couch. And that they were all going to have to pay for it.
“No, because we didn’t do that,” one of the guests told her. Rose has always maintained her innocence and has continued to do so on social media. But added: ‘I paid for it to be cleaned and heard it cleaned right away.
